Action of Plant Growth Regulators on the Seed Germination and Early Seedling of Vicia faba Yadav Swapanil*, Sharma Shivangi, Ahmad Aquil Department of Biotechnology and Microbiology, Gandhi Faiz-E-Aam College, Shahjahanpur (U.P.) 242 001 *E-mail: swapanil@indiatimes.com
Online published on 16 February, 2013. Abstract The effects of Chloroflurenol, Indole Acetic Acid (IAA) and Gibberellic acid (GA) on germination and early seedling of Vicia faba was studied. The different concentrations of growth regulators (5, 10, 50, 100, 500 ppm) were used in these investigations. Chloroflurenol and IAA decreased the percent germination while GA increased. Chloroflurenol and IAA decreased the root length and shoot length at different concentrations. While GA promoted these parameters showing maximum at 50 ppm treatment. Top Keywords Choloroflurenol, Indole Acetic Acid, Gibberellic acid. Top | |
