Abstract While much attention has been paid to India's economic growth, the extent of financial inclusion within the country is rarely examined. The attention is diverted towards the problem of financial inclusion due to problem of financial exclusion of nearly 3 billion people from the formal and institutional financial services. This paper assesses financial inclusion in India and provides pointers to what has been done and what can be done to increase inclusion. The paper also makes some suggestions for successful implementation of financial inclusion for sustainable growth of the economy. Top |
