Abstract One of the most important factors with significant effect on the process of actions and movement toward goals in higher education institutions and universities seem to be self-management and creativity in these large culture-making organizations. The present research aims at identifying and investigating the relationship between self-leadership and creativity in Sari IAU faculty members. The statistical population includes all Sari ISU faculty members among which 123 were selected using the random classified sampling method. Houghton and Neck's self-leadership questionnaire and Randsepp's creativity questionnaire were used to test research hypotheses. Assessment results indicate that there is a significant positive relationship between self-leadership and creativity in faculty members. Moreover, there is a significant positive correlation between the behavior-oriented self-leadership component, the creative thinking component and natural reward and creativity in faculty members.
