Abstract

The Indian experience with financial liberlaization leads to the development and volatile atmosphere especially in terms of Bombay Stock Exchange. The present study deals with the estimation of business risk and financial risk and the extent of relationship between risk and return of the selected Indian cement companies. The sample size of the study consists of five most growing cement companies viz, ACC Ltd, Ambuja Cements Ltd, India Cements Ltd,BirlaCorporation Ltd and Madras Cements Ltd. The present study seeks to analyse the relationship between business and financial risk and return of selected cement companies during the period from April 1996 to March 2021. The findings suggested that the effect of business risk and financial risk on returns is found to be statistically significant.
