Online published on 10 February, 2015. Abstract In the present communication, we have explored new mechanism to place most frequently used data at outer zone of tracks over hard disk. The effect on transfer time has been observed using Zoned-Bit Recording Technology An attempt has been made to minimize the seek time through scheduling techniques on track requests. Our efforts have shown that transfer time gets reduced with reasonable difference on applying this technique. Top Keywords Zoned-Bit recording, fragmentation, transfer time. Top |
