Abstract The article discusses the cause of poor academic performance at school and ways to overcome the problem. Based on the data of modern pedagogy on family education, as well as on the results obtained during the generalization and analysis of existing experience in China and other countries, he showed that a law was needed that placed a serious responsibility on parents to educate children, to give them more time and attention.
