Abstract In this article, the main directions determining the development of the organizational and economic foundations of the railway transport system, the main tasks of the economic development of the railway transport system, the volume of transportation of certain types of goods in railway transport and the trends of indicators of the work of railway transport in Uzbekistan were studied, the structural reform of railway transport the most important conditions were indicated, the studied problems were systematized according to the results of the analysis, and at the same time, the principles of strategic integration of railway transport and a model of the development of the railway transport system were proposed.
