This article has dealt with two research questions: (i) what factors drive the social vulnerability of farmers’ groups to climate change?, and (ii) how they adapt to the negative effects of climate change? The study applied an indicator-index approach to measuring the social vulnerability of different categories of farmers. The findings reveal that the small and marginal farmers are more vulnerable to climatic risks than are the medium and large farmers possibly because of their weak economic and social conditions. In this context, adaptation is key to reducing the climatic impacts and building the resilience of the agricultural system. Top Keywords Climate change, Farm households, Social vulnerability, Coping.
