Online Published on 16 March, 2022. Abstract Tanks have been an important source of irrigation and account for more than one-third of the total irrigated area in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. The study investigated the multiple uses of different tanks system through the Total Value of Output (TVO) and Total Revenue Realization (TRR) approach and Markov chain analysis to analyse the shifts in the tank irrigation system. Tax revenue realized from social forestry is higher in rehabilitated and non-rehabilitated tanks because of the timber value and marketability of the product. The study concluded that dependency between canal and tank irrigated areas is more than any other source of irrigation. Top | |
