The state has a unique advantage of producing off-season vegetables and fruits in hilly areas, which command good prices in the market. However, technical interventions, suitable skills, and information do not always reach the commoners, and they are unable to fully enjoy the sector's prospects. Keeping the above point in view, the present study was planned with an objective to identify the training needs of hortipreneurs. The study was conducted in Almora and Nainital districts in Kumaon Division of Uttarakhand. A sample of 70 respondents were selected through snowball sampling technique & interviewed personally. The overall training need of farmers have been measured with the help of Borisch Analysis. It was observed that hortipreneurs required intensive training in value addition and processing of mushrooms and vegetable production followed by training needs in design, structure and material training in protected cultivation. In fruit crop production, the requirement of training needs was found in micro irrigation techniques in orchards.
