Abstract

Government of India brought about a price policy for providing a fair price for agricultural products. Policies relating to procurement price of agricultural produce by formers have remained totally transparent, economically viable and non-discriminative to our farmers. The idea behind implementing this agricultural price policy is to provide better incentives to our farmers so that we can see improvement in crop production. Secondly concentrating on increasing agricultural inputs will lead to reduced imports in national level. Agricultural price policy of our government has serious implications in the economy of our country. Price policy implemented on agricultural output put emphasis on all major growing food grains in our country which include rice, wheat, maize, ragi, jowar, barley etc.
