Psychological Intervention in Anxiety of Patients with Major Thalassemia Mahigir Forough, Kumar G Venkatesh Department of Studies in Psychology, University of Mysore, Manasagangothri, Mysore, India. Abstract The aim of the study is to find out the effect of psychological intervention (cognitive-behavioral therapy) on anxiety of patients with Major Thalassaemia. The sample consisted of 40 subjects in talasemia center of Bangalore in India. After the pre test of two groups, the intervention by CBT was given to the experimental group for 45 days and the scores measured by Zung Self-Rating Anxiety scale. The Two independent sample Test and paired sample T test methods is used to find out the differences between experimental and control groups and it has shown that there is significant difference between two groups after intervention.
