Online published on 7 March, 2013. Abstract The economy of any country now has become shifted as knowledge based rather than resource based. Development of economy of any country thus depends on the development of its educational sector, especially the technical education. Technical education drives the competitiveness and employment generation. Hence the teachers engaged in handling technical and professional education must be equipped in such a way that effectiveness of technical teachers increases and a substantial input can be provided to the students pursuing technical education. The current communication is an effort to introduce Management by Objective (MBO) as an efficient tool to enhance the effectiveness of business, in the technical Education sector to enhance the efficiency of the teachers. The paper focuses on the concept of MBO, theories of effectiveness, the measure and in technical education, relevance of MBO and the problems involved.
