Abstract The present study explores the relationship between achievement motivation and SES among senior secondary students of Aligarh. Investigators also tried to estimate the effect of SES on achievement motivation, and mean difference of both in respect to their gender. A sample of 200 (100 male and 100 female) senior secondary students was selected. Achievement Motivation Scale and Socio-economic Status Scale were used for the collection of required data. Mean, SD, Correlation, Simple Regression Analysis and “t‟ test were used to analyze data. After all the investigators found that there is a significant relationship among achievement motivation and SES and that SES shows significant positive effect on Achievement Motivation. But no significant difference was found between male and female students on both variables (SES, Achievement Motivation).
