Ecommerce applications and flavors: Customers and business companion

Abstract

In the emerging global economy, e-commerce and e-business have increasingly become a necessary component of business strategy and a strong catalyst for economic development. Electronic commerce meant the facilitation of commercial transactions electronically, using technology such as Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). Consumers can easily search through a large database of products and services. Amazon.com, Inc. is one of the most famous ecommerce companies and is located in Seattle, Washington (USA). For developing countries like India, e-commerce offers considerable opportunity. E-commerce development in India has grown exponentially over the last years. It's political stability and the infrastructure in education, added to the increase in foreign exchange programs has leaded to the creation of highly trained individuals who have advanced programming and online training skills that they use to deliver ecommerce solutions over the Internet. Various applications of e-commerce are continually affecting trends and prospects for business over the Internet, including ebanking, e-tailing and online publishing/online retailing. Electronic Commerce emerged as a very important application of the World Wide Web. Today it is difficult to find an isolated computer. Computers in an organization are interconnected to form intranets and Intranets of the cooperating organizations are interconnected to form extranet. It is cheaper and faster to carry out business transactions within an organization and among organizations electronically using the network connection. Thus it is important to understand how business transactions are carried out electronically reliably and securely.

In first part, the concept of ecommerce will be described in detail. In the second part, the concept of ecommerce applications and flavors will be explained. In the last part, the ecommerce applications and flavors are business and customer companion will be ascertained.
