Abstract The paper is undertaken to develop recruitment and selection according to the strategic skills required at every designation in an organisation. Recruitment refers to the process of finding possible candidates for a job or function, usually undertaken by recruiters. It also may be undertaken by an employment agency or a member of staff at the business or organization looking for recruits. Advertising is commonly part of the recruiting process, and can occur through several means: through online, newspapers, using newspaper dedicated to job advertisement, through professional publication, using advertisements placed in windows, through a job centre, through campus graduate recruitment programs, etc. This paper provides an overview on recruitment and selection in the light of growing expectations and support for radically new and effective ways of dealing with pressing selection problems. The paper begins with the examination of contextual factors influencing the emergence and development of recruitment and selection. It further focuses on defining recruitment and selection, and understanding the parameters of this rather broadly-used term.
