A Case Study of Job Satisfaction among Nurses in Public & Private Hospitals in Delhi

Abstract

Continues developments in science, technology and medical advancement abroad, the great change in the healthcare from old conventional pattern. Now a days the hospitals’ functions like dynamic Industry. The Main aim of the hospitals became the excellent medical care to their patients and such task always depends upon Job Satisfaction of employees of the hospitals. The best job satisfaction can only be achieved by the better relationship between superior and subordinates, working conditions and internal satisfaction. It may be inducted by achievement, advancement, recognition, responsibility authority, interest, challenge and freedom of work.

The Main aim of the study is to measure and compare the Job Satisfaction between public and private hospitals nurses. The illustration to the study includes 80 nurses out of which the 40 nurses from public hospitals and 40 nurses from private hospitals with help of survey the data were collected which consists of the items from Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire, about satisfaction and dissatisfaction with different facts using a likert-Type scale. And it has been observed that satisfaction of nurses deployed in the private hospitals in 60% and the job satisfaction deployed in public hospital is 40% the prominent areas of satisfaction in public hospital are job security and benefits including retirements benefits. During survey it has been observed that in the private hospitals. The working conditions, leadership and relation ship between superior and subordinates are better and the personal relationship between its employees are better and nurses also participates in decision making, Thus the Job satisfaction of the nurses deployed in private Hospitals is better then nurses deployed in Govt. Hospitals.
