Abstract Bodoland Territorial Area Districts is one of the leading districts in Assam in the production of Handloom products. The demand for the Handloom products exists not only in the districts but also in state and national market. Handloom sector plays an important role in employment generation as well as in rural development. This paper examines the performance of handloom sector in BTAD and also the problems.
