Abstract The goal of present paper is decision making authority in family (a comparative evaluation between employees of Aligarh (India) university and employees of Rasht (Iran) university). this study has been performed in the figure of measurement by making use of standard questionnaire. The statistical society is the female staff of Aligarh Muslim University (India) and Rasht University (Iran) that is totally 1060 people. The obtained sample with the mentioned formula is 281.88(282) people. Findings of the research indicate that the couples’ equality and husband participation had the most effective on decision making authority in family both in Indian family and Iranian family. multi-variable and regression analyses show that about half of variance of decision making authority in family (50% for Aligarh) has been explained by 5 variables as: the couples’ equality, husband participation, women social status, women's employment motivation and age difference variable among couples, also 20% of variance of decision making authority in family for Rasht has been explained by 2 variables as: the couples’ equality and husband participation.
