Abstract International humanitarian law is a set of rules that seek to limit the effects of armed conflict on people and objects it protects certain categories of people and restricts the methods and means of warfare. The Responsibility to Protect (R2P) is a principle aimed at the protection of the world's most vulnerable populations from the most heinous international crimes, While R2P is not itself, a legally binding framework, as a principle it is grounded in existing international law and it binds all the states to respect and ensure respect for human rights and humanitarian law.
