A Study of the Influence of Work Safety Scales on Safety Behaviors

Abstract

Safety of employees is primarily important at any workplace irrespective of the fact whether it is a manufacturing, construction or hospitality industry. The importance of safety at work place can't be over exemplified. Adaptation of safety measures not only ensures safety of life of the worker but also their family dependent. Therefore, this study was conducted in determining the influence of Work Safety Scale on safety behavior among employees of a gas company. A total of 140 questionnaires had been distributed to the sample chosen on the study consisting of five independent variables of work safety scale that are: job safety, co-worker safety, supervisor safety, management safety practices and satisfaction of the safety programme. All those independent variables later will be measured on the perception of workplace safety towards the compliance of safety behavior as the determinants. Finally, the finding of the study presented that co-worker safety, supervisor safety, management safety practices and safety programmes are significantly related to compliance safety behavior whilst job safety have no any intercorrelation to safety behavior in the study.
