Abstract

Bioinformatics is used to systematize biological data to help the researcher's access information and to add new information and modify the existing one.

In bio-informatics, sequence alignment is a process of arranging the primary sequences of DNA, RNA and proteins to identify regions of similarity. In this paper, Sequence Alignment is done to align the biological sequences of amino acids by using BLASTP method. BLAST method removes low complexity regions, then list out all possible matching keywords and then extends the matches into high scoring pairs. The process starts by taking sequences from the different data sets and applying BLASTP method on it, filter the sequence into orthologs and paralogs and then finally a phylogenetic tree is being formulated by generating distances between alignments. The implementation of phylogenetic tree by using orthologs provide more accurate results as compare to other methods.
