Abstract In recent decades, qualitative and quantitative methods and models have been widely paid attention to and used in planning in general, and in regional planning in particular. Identifying the status of regions, their capabilities and limitations is of particular importance in the regional planning. Today, awareness of strengths and weaknesses of areas to present projects, programs and policies is necessary. Using economic, social, cultural Index can be the suitable criterion for determining the status and situation of regions and an important facto e to resolve the problems and failures on the way of achieving sustainable development. The statistical population of this research included 10 cities of Lorestan and 9 major agriculture indexes were chosen. Data analysis was carried out by means of the Numerical Taxonomy. The results show that Khoramabad ranked first with the development degree of 0.70513 and Delfan was known to be the most undeveloped city with development degree of 0.95992.
