Reduction of Source Current Harmonics in R and Rl Load with Active Filter at Source End Kumar A Siva*, Selvan N B Muthu** *Research Scholar, Anna University, Chennai, India **Associate Professor, Department of EEE, SSN College of Engineering, Kalavakkam, Chennai, India Online published on 14 October, 2016. Abstract This paper reveals the comparative study of supply current harmonics in Resistive and Resistive Inductive loads with shunt active filter. The single phase rectifier fed Resistive load considered as a nonlinear load. In this paper, an active filter is connected at supply end to reduce the source current harmonics. The reduction of supply current THD values with R and RL using single-phase shunt active filter is presented. The simulation studies are performed and compared with Resistive load and RL loads. Top Keywords Shunt Active filter (SAF), THD, Resistive load, Resistive and Inductive load, PI controller and PWM Inverter. Top |
