Abstract In the recent few decades, many materials were identified to use as a concrete ingredients. The component aggregate is mainly used as filler materials. Artificial aggregates are now in practices because of it properties, reuse of material and also reduction in the depletion of natural resource. In this study, M20 grade of concrete is designed as per Indian standards, in which artificial aggregate made using pond ash by the process of pelletisation replacing coarse aggregate by 20, 40, 60, 80 & 100%. All these mixes are cured for 28 days under normal condition and compressive strength were evaluated. The test results shows mix M-40PA records a higher value than other mixes and conventional mix.
