Abstract In this paper Interleaved Discontinuous Conduction Mode (DCM) three phase single switch boost Power Factor Correction (PFC) converter operating at constant frequency and constant duty cycle has been proposed. It maintains boost inductor current in phase with the source voltage to achieve better power factor and Total Harmonic Distortion (THD). A method of controlling the duty cycle of the interleaved PFC converter with PI controller to maintain constant output voltage is also proposed in this paper. Interleaved PFC converter is compared with the conventional PFC converter and it is interfaced with DC/DC buck converter for a blower application. The experimental results are presented using Matlab/Simulink to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
