Abstract Extracting relevant information on the web content brings many new challenges and complicates the well addressed problems in web retrieval. The researches on web search provides initial indications and findings from traditional web research to discover what conventional web content retrieval approaches may be applicable in the Web setting, while exploring new approaches that can accommodate the Web-specific characteristics. Perhaps web data consists mostly of text, which means various tools of text retrieval might be useful in Web IR. In this paper related indicators for web site ranking based on text mining and relevance scoring have been studied. The search results were evaluated using hypotheses testing, power estimation and standard statistical evaluation. The results evidence that the proposed algorithm perform better than the benchmarks.
