Design of Control System for a Pineapple Drying Process

Abstract

Drying is one of the most common and important unit operations in process industries. In this paper, a suitable control algorithm was designed and developed for a pineapple drying Process. A PID controller has been designed to control this process. The developed models for pineapple drying chamber and control system have been implemented by using Matlab. In a fruit drying chamber the temperature and humidity are closely related with each other. The coupling between temperature and humidity has been identified by ANFIS(Adaptive network based fuzzy Inference system). The fuzzy logic and neural network incorporate the human thinking into the control system.
