Effect of M-Sand on Setting Time of High Performance Concrete Dr. Suresh S.*, Revathi J.** *Professor, Sona College of Technology, Salem, India **Research Scholar, Anna University, Chennai, India Online published on 14 October, 2016. Abstract The setting time of concrete has more practical significance to Engineers and Contractors, than the setting time of cement. The present study seeks to gauge The efficacy manufactured sand or M-sand a fine aggregate in the place of natural river sand. The effect of M-sand on the setting time of high performance concrete is studied on an experimental basis under laboratory conditions. It is proved using three series of HPC with different compositions, through penetration resistance tests on the parameters of workability, setting time and compressive strength. On grounds of sustainable development and environment preservation, M-sand is seen as a viable substitute for river sand.
