The impact of ethical leadership on job involvement (Case studied: Social Security Organization Managers)

Abstract

This study was conducted to investigate the effect of ethical leadership on job involvement of the managers of Social Security Organization. The research method is applied in terms of purpose, and descriptive-survey in terms of data collection method. The study population consisted of 224 managers of the Social Security Organization in Tehran, from which 140 were selected as the sample size using Krejcie and Morgan table and stratified random sampling method. To collect data, De Hoogh & Den Hartog (2008) standard questionnaires of ethical leadership, and Lodahl & Kejner (1965) job involvement scale were used. After collecting the questionnaires, analyzing the data, and hypotheses testing using structural equation modeling method and using Smart PLS 2 software were done in two sections of measurement model and structural section. In the first section, the technical characteristics of the questionnaire including reliability, convergent validity, and divergent validity for PLS were examined. In the second section, significance coefficients of the software were used to examine the hypotheses of the study. The results showed that ethical leadership and its components, including morality and fairness, role clarification, and power sharing influence job involvement of the Social Security Organization managers.
