Abstract Mobile ad hoc network is a self organized and dynamic natured multi hop wireless network. In MANET, the mobile nodes can communicate each other without the help of any infrastructure. Because of the nature of the mobile nodes, an ad hoc network naturally has a dynamic topology. Additionally, the mobile nodes are operated using battery power, and it limits the capacity of processor, memory, and bandwidth. Clustering is a process of hierarchically organizing of those nodes for a better routing. Due to the fickle characteristic of the mobile nodes, they attach to a cluster or detach from a cluster quiet frequently. This is the main concern for the stability of the cluster. There are many clustering techniques have been developed to improve its efficiency. In this paper, we have analysed to render an innovative technique to prolong the life of clusters.
