Abstract This paper presents Space Vector Module Pulse Width Modulation (SVMPWM) controlled Single Delta Bridge Cell (SDBC) of Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) for sudden change in supply voltage during the electrical load applications like welding, furnace, etc., That is, the STATCOM supplies the dynamic reactive power required for short term voltage sag. The modified SDBC based STATCOM is controlled by the SVMPWM technique. It is noted that, the supply system stability may tend to become stable under the load of 2kW. The performance of STATCOM under load condition was simulated with MATLAB 7.6.0.324 (R2008a). The simulation result is presented for active power and reactive power with normal 230V supply line voltage. The simulation results validate the ability of STATCOM to improve the short - term voltage variation. With appropriate modified SDBC regulator act is observed rationally well during the inductive and capacitive modes of operation. The hardware result brings good dynamic performance with modified single delta bridge cell. Top Keywords STATCOM, Multi level inerter, single delta bridge cell, voltage sag, reactive power. Top |
