Fuzzy Control based Pulse Width Modulation for Asymmetric Multilevel Inverter Subramani A.*, Dr. Kumar S. Senthil** *Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, VSA School of Engineering, India **Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, Government College of Engineering, Salem, India Online published on 15 September, 2016. Abstract This paper presents a Fuzzy control algorithm based implementation of Asymmetric Multilevel Inverter for a single-phase cascaded nine-level inverter. The main idea of this paper is to minimize the ripples in the inverters with reduced switch combinations. The proposed fuzzy control technique for the multilevel inverter generate the near sinusoidal output voltages across the DC input sources. The voltage and frequency of the multilevel inverter can be adjusted using closed loop control and it can be achieved desired output level. The performance of the complete system has been verified under different transient states. Experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed technique. As such, this technique is more suited for inverters with very high number of output voltage levels. It is also proved that low total harmonics distortion and high efficiency in output using proposed FCPWM technique. Top | |
