Abstract

Nine mutant genotypes of neelamari, Indigofera tinctoria L. were evaluated for yield and yield component characters in RBD with three replications. Fresh wt. of leaves was positively and significantly associated with no of leaves per plant and dry wt. of leaves. Path coefficient analysis revealed that girth of stem had highest positive direct effect (0.873) on fresh wt. of leaves followed by number of leaves per plant (0.741), width of leaves(0.371) and length of leaves (0.205). Among these characters, number of leaves per plant possessed both positive association and high direct effects. Hence, selection for this character could bring improvement in yieldand yield components especially fresh wt. of leaves.
