Fruit production in tomato by growth substances – A review

Abstract

One of the major developments in scientific horticulture has been the use of plant growth substances, which has brought about a sort of revolution in growing vegetable crops. The available literature on the effect of different plant growth substances on seed germination, vegetative growth, flowering, fruit set, fruit ripening, fruit yield, fruit quality and, resistance to various diseases in tomato has been reviewed in this paper.
