The population of India is expected to reach 1.5 billion by 2050 with a current decadal growth rate of ∼18%. The review paper is written to highlight the current and future challenges facing the agriculture sector in India. There are various challenges that affect the Indianeconomy such as food security, soil quality deterioration, water scarcity, lack of proper food storage structures, landdegradation etc. Recent pandemic situation has affected the agricultural sectors, will lends to the major changes in the future, which needs to be discussed and planned to meet the future requirements.
