Abstract

Forty genotypes of chickpea evaluated in RBD with 3 replications and data were analysed for genetic variability, heritability and genetic advance. Twelve quantitative characters were studied and it was revealed that selection is likely to be effective for 100 seed, mass, pods/plant and seed yield/plant and to some extent, length of pod bearing branch, harvest index, secondary branches/pLant and seeds/pod.
