It delves into various literature to comprehend the influence of societal norms on the representation of women in labour. The paper examines the gender disparities in unpaid work in India and the different theories that explain the gender wage gap. Furthermore, it explores disparities in tural and urban settings for men and women by comparing wages and unemployment.
