Online published on 29 February, 2024. Abstract Squamous papillomas are common lesions of the oral mucosa with a predilection for the mucosa of the hard and soft palate. It is mostly asymptomatic with slow progressive changes in size. As an oral lesion, it raises concern because of its clinical appearance which may look similar to condyloma acuminatum, verruca vulgaris, verrucous carcinoma, exophytic carcinoma. It is related to Human Papilloma virus (HPV) even though the controversy regarding its pathogenesis still exists. It is important to correctly identify this lesion as it may resemble malignant lesions. We report a case of squamous papilloma arising in the anterior floor of mouth near the lower alveolus along with a review of literature.
