When the profession of dentistry was established, endodontics was considered an entirely mechanical practice with almost no relation to the techniques or physical and biological properties of dental materials. Endodontic technology has witnessed a phenomenal growth in the last decade. Changes of great magnitude and profundity have occurred. The popularity of endodontic operating microscopes complimented by the introduction of Nickel-titanium rotary instrumentation techniques, better irrigating solutions and advanced obturating systems have taken this clinical field to a new horizon.
