Abstract Wiring of arch bar is the most common method used for the maxillomandibular fixation but it carries the hazard of perforating injuries to the operator and also causes insult to the peridontium. so a new technique was used for maxillomandibular fixation using Ribbond and orthodontic brackets. With this method there was no risk of spread of any communicable disease neither there was any insult to peridontium and satisfactory results after treatment were obtained.
