Abstract Papillon Lefevre syndrome (PLS) is a rare autosomal recessive disease characterized by skin lesions which are manifested as palmar-plantar hyperkeratosis, severe periodontal destruction and precocious loss of teeth involving both the primary and permanent dentitions. PLS is caused by mutations in the cathepsin C gene located on chromosome 11 (11q14-q21). This report presents a 21 year old boy having the classic signs and symptoms of PLS.
