Odontogenic Myxoma of Maxilla -A Rare Entity

Abstract

Odontogenic myxoma (OM) comprise of 3–6% of all Odontogenic Tumors (OT). They are rare and locality invasive benign neoplasm found exclusively in the jaws. OM usually occur in 2nd and 3rd decade of life With mandible as the most preferred site of occurrence. The lesion presents as asymptomatic swelling. The radiographic features are variable and the diagnosis is therefore not easy: This article presents a rare case of odontogenic myxoma occurring in the maxilla of a 22 year male patient with a bnef review of the pathogenesis, clinical, radiological, histopathological & immunohistochemical characteristics of OM.
