Abstract

The advances in dentistry are many fold however; no restorative material till date has been more effective than the natural tooth itself. (1) The purpose of this paper is to describe a treatment approach joining the homogeneous bonding dentin post reinforcement of grossly destructed maxillary central incisor followed by composite resin built up lporcelain crown fabrication. Dentin posts made from roots of non carious orthodontically extracted premolars were used. The adhesion provided among the "Biological Post," the cementing agent, and the dental structure allows one to attain a sole biomechanical system (monoblock) with materials that are compatible among themselves.(1, 2) This is a novel technique for restoring grossly destructed anterior teeth hence further studies are called for to assess adhesion, fracture resistance, and the long-term behaviour of the posts so as to better understand the benefits of the technique and make it a more acceptable practice among dentists and patients.
