The sample size was 20 numbers for each criteria evaluated in the study. Application to this study which is of clinical significance,is to obtain the optimal range of constant light forces for orthodontic tooth movements. Hence coil springs with super elastic activity with low load deflection rate to be selected and have to be correctly activated the first time they are inserted. The data compiled herein permit a spring of proper material to be quickly chosen for a given set of conditions although care must be excercised to suit the pressure exerted by the spring to the physiology of the patient, particularly as regards firmness and sensitivity to the teeth.
