Abstract

CMCR “The Chemomechanical Method of Caries Removal” has an upperhand over conventional invasive procedures for caries removal as this method avoids painful removal of sound dentine. It leads to conservation of sound tooth structure and reduces risk of pulp exposure. The method can be especially helpful in pediatric dentistry where kids can be unmanageable due to the fear of injections, the sound of drill and even the dentist. Here is a review to introduce the CMCR agents’ history and their recent advancements to familiarize the dental fraternity with it so that it can be brought into practice more commonly in day to day practice.
