It is the purpose of this evidencedbased review to examine the contents of natural latex rubber (NLR), the symptoms of latex sensitivity and latex allergy, identify persons most susceptible to latex allergy, identify methods to protect healthcare workers and patients, and finally to identify products that contain latex and their alternative counterparts that have been manufactured latex-free.
