Online published on 17 February, 2020. Abstract Nanotechnology is the science of manipulating matter measured in the billionths of meters or nanometer, roughly the size of 2 or 3 atoms. The application of nanotechnology in dentistry has lead to the promising field of Nanodentistry which is the science and technology of maintaining near-perfect oral health through the use of nanomaterials, biotechnology, tissue engineering and nanorobotics. Advances in the field of nanodentistry has revolutionised the present day dentistry with improved dental care procedures, materials and methods. This article reviews the various materials and approaches followed for the creation of nanoproducts used in nanodentistry which promise a brighter future for the upcoming era of modern dentistry.
