Online published on 22 August, 2019. Abstract Introduction Many children reach school with an empty stomach in the morning, since a good early morning breakfast is not part of household routine. Mid day meals scheme was initiated on the philosophy that “when children have to sit in class with empty stomach, they cannot focus on learning”. In 2002 the Government of Rajasthan began providing cooked meals to primary Class Students As per the Supreme Court directives under the National Mid-day Meal Scheme which aims to increase enrollment, attendance and retention which simultaneously increasing status of the students in Primary class. Aim The objectives of the study were to assess the knowledge of Government primary school teachers regarding mid day meal programme, to find out association between knowledge of teachers regarding mid day meal programme and demographic variables of teachers and to develop information booklet on mid day meal programme based on knowledge of Governmentprimary school teachers. Material and Methods A descriptive survey approach was taken. Sample for the study were government primary school teachers. The sample size was 100 in numbers. Non Probability Convenient Sampling Technique was used. The content validity and the reliability of the tool were done. Results The study shows inadequate and moderate knowledge of teachers, so the information booklet was prepared and distributed to them with the intention of enhancing their knowledge. Data analysis included both descriptive and inferential statistics. The study also discusses the implications in the related fields. Conclusion The present study shows that the teachers possessed inadequate and moderate knowledge.
