Abstract Introduction Social Networking Sites plays an important role in every student's life Social Networking Sites greatly influence the psychosocial domain of the healthi. the activity pattern is affected by spending lots of hours on SNS rather than performing any physical activity that give rise to sedentary lifestyle and various health problems. SNS plays important role in altering Social integration of an individual through spending time on SNS and making more friends on social media than interacting with people in real life. Aim To assess the usage of social networking sites (SNS) and its impact on perceived psychosocial well being among students. Material and Methods An exploratory descriptive research approach was used to assess the psychosocial aspects due to use of SNS among 150 students, selected through the consecutive sampling technique. Data collection was done by using Non-standardized tools like Activity Pattern questionnaire and Social Integration questionnaire and standardized tools like Beck Depression Inventory. Results During data analysis, it was found that mean age of SNS users is 21-23 year. Most of them were males and live in urban area. Majority of students were from Bachelor of Arts and live in joint family and having no occupation. The usage pattern include: Whatsapp is the most used media of SNS users and i.e. 48% and one third of subjects spent more than hours/day on social networking sites. Psychosocial wellbeing include due to sedentary lifestyle 58% of subjects activity pattern is affected mildly. 41% of subject's were affected socially always due to use of SNS, Depression score of high SNS user were significantly high than low SNS user. Conclusion The study conclude that students using excessive SNS faced difficulties in managing the psychosocial health .This study suggests that there is need to assess and address the psychosocial needs of students who are users of SNS.
